Recommendations for setting a new Emissions Cap for Mexico’s Emissions Trading System

The aim of the project is to support the Mexican Ministry for the Environment in setting the cap for the Mexican emission trading scheme. The first task is to gather the required information through interviews and analysing the verified emissions data for the first year. Based on this, a tool which allows the calculatioin of different cap scenarios is developed. A set of possible cap values are produced and discussed with the partners in Mexico. The final report also includes recommendations for cap setting in future phases.
