Ausbildung & Berufserfahrung

Lambert Schneider hat Energie- und Verfahrenstechnik an der TU Berlin studiert. Von 1999 bis 2000 arbeitete er zunächst als Projektingenieur bei der Berliner Energieagentur. Von 2000 bis 2009 war er dann wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Öko-Institut im Bereich Energie & Klimaschutz. In dieser Funktion war er von 2001 bis 2008 Mitglied der deutschen Delegation bei den UN-Klimaverhandlungen und für Fragen zur Berichterstattung, Überprüfung und Bilanzierung von Treibhausgasemissionen und internationalen Kohlenstoffmärkten verantwortlich. Von 2005 bis 2010 war er Mitglied des Methodologies Panel des Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). Von 2010 bis 2012 hat er im UN-Klimasekretariat ein Team geleitet, das Methoden zur Quantifizierung von Emissionsminderungen entwickelt und verbessert sowie die UN-Verhandlungen unterstützt hat. Von 2012 bis 2019 war er Associate beim Stockholm Environment Institute und hat zu Klimapolitik, Kohlenstoffmärkten und Energiepolitik gearbeitet. Seit 2013 ist er Mitglied des CDM-Exekutivrats des CDM und war 2014 Vize-Vorsitzender und 2015 Vorsitzender des Rats. Seit 2019 arbeitet Lambert Schneider am Öko-Institut als Forschungskoordinator für internationale Klimapolitik.
