Energy & Climate
Christian Nissen has been working as a scientific assistant in the department Energy & Climate Protection at the Öko-Institut since 2018. Prior to this, he was responsible for meter data management at the smart meter operator Solandeo GmbH.
In 2016, Christian Nissen completed his master's degree in industrial engineering with a focus on energy and environmental management at the Europa-Universität of Flensburg. In his master's thesis, he examined the interdependence of low-emission development strategies, national determined contributions (NDCs) and nationally appropriate mitigation actions (NAMAs). During his bachelor studies at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences, he gained international experience at University College Cork in Ireland. Christian Nissen also completed internships in climate protection management in the city of Flensburg and at the climate policy consultancy "TheGreenwerk". His Bachelor Thesis dealt with the monitoring of the Flensburg Master Plan climate protection concept and the development of a set of indicators to measure progress. Prior to his studies, Christian Nissen worked as a communications electronics technician.
