Scientific analyses on the implementation and further development of EU climate protection policy with a view to 2030 and 2040

The aim of the project is to support the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) with scientific studies of current proposals, instruments and topics in EU climate and energy policy for the implementation of the EU climate protection framework as well as the identification of weak points, gaps and opportunities for improvement.

This includes, in particular, the implementation of the relevant dossiers of the Fit For 55 package, the Governance Regulation and the preparations for the further development of the climate policy framework after 2030.

The services include

  • Ongoing scientific support for the client in matters that arise on a daily basis from the climate policy debate;
  • Short-term technical evaluation of current political proposals, obtaining specialist information, dealing with questions from the political, economic and legal areas;
  • Preparing short studies, evaluations, short briefings or ad hoc analyses on selected topics that arise from the ongoing political debate.
