Literature study about water balance and silviculture

Due to ongoing climate change, long periods of drought can be expected in the future. Forests are not only directly affected, but can also contribute to the adaptation to these extreme events, as they have a high influence on the regional water balance. This ecosystem service could represent an important support measure in forests. The aim of this literature study is to present an overview of the scientific findings on the influence of forest management on the water balance in forests.
