Does the CRCF methodology for permanent removals align with the PACM?

This policy brief assesses the extent to which the methodology proposed by the European Com-mission under the Carbon Removal and Carbon Farming Regulation (CRCF) for Direct Air Cap-ture with Carbon Storage (DACCS), Biogenic Emissions Capture with Carbon storage (BioCCS) and Biochar Carbon Removal (BCR) is aligned with the requirements of the Article 6.4 Paris Agreement Crediting Mechanism (PACM). As PACM methodologies are not yet available, we compare the CRCF methodology against key overarching PACM standards.
