Preventing greenwashing and unclear environmental claims - that is the aim of two new EU directives on "green claims". However, the EU Commission's proposals to date still show clear contradictions - both between the proposed directives on green claims themselves and between the proposed directives and the existing eco-regulation. This is shown by a new legal opinion prepared by the law firm WBS Legal as part of a joint research project by the Oeko-Institut, the Association of Organic Food Producers (AöL) and the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL Deutschland e.V.).
