Study to support an impact assessment of possible Aviation EU ETS Directive review

The economic, social and environmental impacts of different design options of the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) for aviation as well as a global market-based mechanism (GMBM) under the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) are assessed in this project. The project results inform the Commission’s proposal and impact assessment for the further treatment of aviation in the ETS directive as function of the decisions on a GMBM taken in the ICAO general assembly in October 2016.
