Scientific study on the development in energy consumption and measures to promote product-related energy efficiency

As an immediate measure of the National Action Plan Energy Efficiency (NAPE), the German federal government has approved the National Top Runner Initiative (NTRI). It bundles policies in order to promote a rapid market penetration of products and services that contribute to reducing energy consumption This research project is intended to support the NTRI with respect to product related energy efficiency It is divided into the following work packages (WP):

WP 1: Analysis of the current knowledge and state of development; WP 2: Scientific assessment and evaluation of current and future potentials and fields of action of product-related energy efficiency; WP 3: Analysis of savings effects of product-related energy efficiency measures; WP 4: analysis, assessment and treatment of social trends and contexts of product-related energy efficiency; AP 5: Scientific assessment and evaluation of the national implementation or flanking of the European Top Runner Strategy; AP 6: Ad hoc review and short-term consultancy; AP 7: project meetings, workshops and public relations.
