Provision of technical assistance on the agri-food system to the secretariat of the European Scientific Advisory Board on Climate Change

The aim of this project is to support the ESABCC in providing scientific advice on how to strengthen climate mitigation, adaptation and resilience in the EU agri-food sector. This involves informing on future EU policies, such as the CAP revision, potential emissions trading systems and food system reforms. The project comprises four work packages. Öko-Institut is leading Work Package 2 and also contributing to the others. These include:

Assessment of mitigation and adaptation measures (e.g. agroforestry, dietary shifts)

Analysis of transition pathways for the agri-food system (quantitative and qualitative).

· Review of the current EU policy framework and its consistency with climate goals

· Evaluation of policy options (e.g. CAP reform, ETS, carbon border adjustment).
