Planning transition through the transdisciplinary integration of regional and socio-cultural factors in the development of local energy transition measures

In a transdisciplinary research approach, the project

PlanTieFEn

develops innovative methods and processes for the implementation of regional energy transition measures together with practitioners. This is being done in so-called participatory planning laboratories in three model regions: in the "Trinational Metropolitan Region Upper Rhine" in Baden-Württemberg, the "Ruhr Area" in North Rhine-Westphalia and in "Vorpommern" in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The aim is to identify and integrate the different local and regional spatial identities, regional energy and planning cultures and regulations as well as RE potentials and to consider them in an integrated way in order to develop and test locally and/or regionally adapted measures and instruments for participatory planning.
