Investigation of economic instruments to reduce packaging consumption and to strengthen plastics recycling and the use of recycled materials

The project aims to develop economic instruments that contribute either to avoiding packaging or to strengthening plastics recycling. In addition to the legal and technological design, the instruments are to be subsequently evaluated and specified economically by means of an econometric model. Furthermore, a national equivalent of the EU plastic tax is to be developed on the basis of the information in order to allocate it to the plastics industry.
