Implementation of renovation measures to support local heating planning

The research project aims to identify pathways for systematically integrating building energy renovation into municipal heat planning processes. To this end, national and international case studies are analysed where the linkage between renovation and heat planning has already been successfully implemented. Based on these findings, practical guidance and communication materials are developed to support municipalities and intermediary actors such as energy agencies in identifying renovation potential, setting priorities, and translating them into implementation strategies. The materials are tested and validated in close cooperation with practitioners. The project thus contributes to a better integration of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and strategic infrastructure planning in the local heat transition.
