Expert support for the preparation of national communications of non-Annex I countries within the framework of the Consultative Group of Experts II

In 2003, Lambert Schneider of Oeko-Institut was nominated by the EU to participate in the meeting of the Consultative Group of Experts II (CGE II). In addition, he made written comments and contributions to the UNFCCC Secretariat ’s User Manual which explains the guidelines and to the Training Manual of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). He also helped to prepare the CGE’s work programme. Subsequently, an evaluation was undertaken of the UNDP/UNEP proposal for the simplified approval of projects for preparing national communications for Germany.
