Elaboration of scientific principles to promote the inclusion of environmental criteria in the award of contracts by public authorities

The aim of the project was to support the Federal Environment Agency in its diverse activities with regard to the further promotion of an eco-friendly public procurement. In the course of the project, various work tasks were to be executed. They covered both national processes and optionally the GPP discourse at the level of the European Commission. The focus of work was on the elaboration of tender recommendations for a wide range of product groups, the updating of the legal opinion as well as of the training scripts "Green procurement" of the Federal Environment Agency. Other tasks required content-related groundwork for the website www.beschaffung-info.de. In addition, the provision of technical expertise was foreseen both with regard to the processing of inquiries from the competence center for sustainable procurement (Kompetenzstelle für nachhaltige Beschaffung; KNB) and in working groups in which the Federal Environment Agency takes part, i.e. the expert group standards and the sub-working group social standards of the Federal/Länder for sustainable procurement".
