Michael Sailer nominates “Green Talents”

Michael Sailer, CEO of the Oeko-Institut, has been appointed to the jury of the competition “Green Talents – International Forum for High Potentials in Sustainable Development”.

Young researchers outside Germany can apply between 2 May and 10 June 2012. The organisers are looking for talented young people whose research falls under the broad heading of improving quality of life worldwide without squandering resources. Sustainable schemes for managing water and waste in megacities, promoting environmentally friendly transport, boosting energy efficiency or conserving biodiversity are just a few examples of the many areas in which innovative solutions are urgently needed.

The prize for the winners is a tour of the German research scene that includes visits to prominent companies and institutes and meetings with experts from research and industry, together with a one- to three-month stay in Germany in a scientific setting. For the fourth time the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research will be honouring the 25 most innovative young researchers in its “Green Talents” competition.
