Strategic Dialogue on Sustainable Raw Materials for Europe (STRADE)

The project "Strategic Dialogue on Sustainable Raw Materials for Europe" (STRADE) addresses the long-term security and sustainability of the European raw material supply from European and non-European countries. The aim is to develop dialogue-oriented, innovative political recommendations for a European strategy for the future supply of mineral raw materials.  Based on environmental and social sustainability issues, the project is dedicated to increasing the security of supply of minerals and the competitiveness of the industry within the EU.

STRADE will build a strong network of available research results, practical experience, legislation, best practice technologies and expertise at European level in the following areas:

1. a European co-operation strategy with resource-rich countries

2. an internationally sustainable extraction and supply of raw materials

3. increasing European competitiveness in the raw materials sector
