Stakeholder Workshop and Guideline Development on Battery Recycling Ecosystems in Thailand

The increasing prevalence of electric vehicles in Thailand calls for strategic planning to ensure the sustainable end-of-life management of batteries. The aim of this project is to produce a comprehensive implementation guide to support Thailand in establishing a sustainable battery recycling ecosystem. The guide provides policymakers and industry stakeholders with clear, actionable steps tailored to Thailand’s regulatory environment, market conditions and infrastructure capacity. These steps include organising a multi-day stakeholder workshop in Thailand. The aim is to gather different perspectives from the relevant stakeholders with a view to building consensus, to analyse international best practices and successful models from comparable markets, and to summarise these findings in a report. The report is aimed at Thai stakeholders and contains practical recommendations, including a proposed timetable for implementation. The final outcome serves both as a strategic roadmap and as an operational toolkit to ensure that those involved can move from awareness to action in the development of a new system.
