Security of supply and reserves in the German electricity sector

Oeko-Institut prepared a short study on security of supply in the German electricity sector. Chapter 2 gives a historical overview of security of supply in order to depict both the technical and political character of this concept. Chapter 3 summarises the current legal frame for security of supply in the electricity sector, while Chapter 4 gives an overview of reserves held in the German electricity market.
