Reduction of electricity consumption in households in Germany: impact analysis and transfer strategies for Good Practice (TRANSPOSE)

The 'TRANSPOSE' project aims to identify effective political instruments to encourage energy-efficient behaviour in private households and prepare them for implementation in Germany. This starts with an analysis of the technical and behavioural potential for saving electricity, as well as the barriers faced by consumers and their environment. Based on this analysis, transferable strategies for successful foreign policies are developed and tested for feasibility in stakeholder dialogue. The project's ultimate goal is to provide specific impetus for an effective national electricity-saving policy. The Öko-Institut contributes to this by identifying, systematising and quantifying the technical and behavioural electricity-saving potential of private households in detail. The institute is also involved in transfer analysis and transfer catalysis.
