Policy development for improving RES-H/C penetration in European Member States (RES-H Policy)

The RES-H Policy project (www.res-h-policy.eu) supports EU Member States in implementing the Renewables Directive (2009/28/EC) with a focus on renewable heating and cooling (RES-H/C). It assists in setting national RES-H/C targets for 2020/2030 and facilitates participatory policy processes to assess support options both qualitatively and quantitatively. This results in tailored policy recommendations for strengthening RES-H/C uptake in national markets. At EU level, the project evaluates coordination and harmonisation strategies, providing design criteria for a common policy framework and insights into costs and benefits. Oeko-Institut coordinates the project and leads the evaluation of policy options regarding their effectiveness and economic efficiency across different national contexts.
