Policy coherence at the nexus of environment, development and migration governance

What can a coherent policy in the nexus of environment, development and migration look like? The project examines starting points on how policies related to migration and human mobility can be further developed from an environmental perspective, and environmental policies from a migration perspective.

Measures of the project:

• Analysis of the status quo on coherence in the nexus environment, development and migration on different political-administrative levels (international, European, national with regard to European and international activities etc.) with the help of a literature and document analysis and interviews with experts;
• Development of options for action and recommendations for an improved coherence of environmental protection, international cooperation and migration policy;
• Development of approaches for a fact-based communication on (environmentally induced) flight and migration;
• Involvement of stakeholders in the form of expert interviews and workshops.
