Multisensory methane detection using drones at landfills

MethaSense focuses on the research and development of an intelligent solution for multi-sensor drone-based methane detection in landfill environments. This novel solution combines the latest drone technologies (robotics) with innovative gas detection sensors and artificial intelligence (AI) to continuously and accurately detect anomalies in landfill environments, thereby improving the quantity and quality of emission data for the validation and early implementation of avoidance and recovery strategies. The Öko-Institut carries out a Life Cycle Assessment to guide the development of the new technology.
