Identifying possibilities for reducing the heat demand and developing paths for a climate-neutral heat supply in the City of Munich

The study commissioned by the local utility Stadtwerke München together with the City of Munich determines which technical solutions can be used to convert the city’s heat sector to renewable energies as quickly as possible and make it completely climate-neutral. The goal is a climate-neutral heat supply by 2035. The study assesses accelerated progress in building insulation, decentralised use of renewable heating technologies and the expansion of the district heating network, including the transformation to climate-neutral heat generation.
