Guideline development for standardised life cycle-based greenhouse gas accounting for the Integrated Neighbourhood (IN) approach

The aim of the project is to develop an innovative, application-oriented solution for life-cycle-based carbon footprint assessment for the integrated neighbourhood approach (iQA). The focus will be on existing neighbourhoods. A standardised approach to carbon accounting is to be proposed, i.e. defining the scope of the assessment, accounting principles, emission factors and indicators beyond greenhouse gases. The guidelines developed are to be used by planners in their future neighbourhood work. In addition to the topics of energy, buildings and mobility, open space development and other forms of consumption are also to be taken into account.
