Future study for the district of Alzey-Worms

The district of Alzey-Worms is working on a district development concept that will define the framework and basis for sustainable urban development over the next 10-20 years. The aim of the district is to reduce emissions of climate-relevant pollutants to zero by 2040. The study looks at various future scenarios on the basis of which the district development concept is to be further developed. Current and future challenges such as demographic change, increasing land consumption, climate change and the loss of biodiversity are addressed. The settlement development scenarios are analysed and evaluated in terms of their ecological, economic and social impact.
