Further development of the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) surcharge calculator (2021)

Based on the Renewable Energy Sources Act a surcharge is added to electricity sold. The level of the surcharge has been the topic of intense political debates; this project aims at providing in-depth information to the public in order to substantiate the debate.

The calculating tool is published on the website and enables policy makers, journalists and the interested public to calculate the future level of the surcharge depending on a range of options e.g. related to the dynamics of renewables deployment, the definition of feed-in tariffs and the extent of industry exemptions.
