Further development and application of a methodological assessment approach for analyzing the factors influencing and the significance of a storage facility for spent nuclear fuel for a region (short title: Interim Storage Facility and Region II)

Recognizing that extending storage beyond the approved 40-year period also has societal implications for the respective host region, the “Interim Storage Facility and Region” project developed an initial methodological approach to address these aspects. In the “Interim Storage Facility and Region II” project, this assessment approach was re-evaluated and expanded. In addition, overarching aspects such as the scope of the affected region, the duration of interim storage, and public participation were discussed.
