Expert activity in the Austrian Waste Management Advisory Board for the development of decision-making principles and recommendations for the safe disposal of radioactive waste produced in Austria

The Austrian Waste Management Advisory Board was convened by the Austrian Federal Government in 2021 and develops topics and issues in order to present the status quo regarding radioactive waste in Austria and to gradually point out a path towards the final disposal of radioactive waste. The Waste Management Advisory Board prepares a detailed inventory of radioactive waste, evaluates the possible options for the final disposal of Austrian radioactive waste and prepares a participation concept as well as a time schedule and process plan for disposal. It also prepares recommendations that form the basis for further decisions on the final disposal of radioactive waste.

Mrs Spieth-Achtnich has been a member of the Austrian Waste Management Advisory Board since 2022.
