Development of scenarios for achieving the new climate protection targets

The first update of the Hamburg Climate Plan, adopted in December 2019, sets Hamburg's climate targets for 2030 of a 55% reduction in CO

2

compared to the base year of 1990 and for 2050 of at least a 95% reduction in CO

2

(climate neutrality) in relation to Hamburg's carbon footprint. The Climate Plan also describes a strategy with transformation paths and measures with which Hamburg will implement its goals. The project supports Hamburg City in setting sectoral targets, updating the climate plan, identifying key measures and quantifying their impacts.
