Contributions to the German Obligations regarding the National Report and the 6th Review Meeting of the “Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management

Since preparing Germany’s first national report to the “Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management” (Joint Convention), Oeko-Institute substantially contributes the respective working group of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Na-ture Conservation, Reactor Safety and Building (BMUB). Oeko-Institute members provide specific re-port content, analyze national reports of the contracting parties, respond to questions from the con-tracting parties and participate as part of the German delegation at the triennial Review Meetings, thus preparing condensed information for the German Government. The first review meeting of the Joint Convention took place at IAEA in Vienna in 2003. The next will be in 2018.
