Consumer Choice and Carbon Consciousness for Electricity (4CE)

To intensify competition in the electricity market and enable consumers to make informed purchasing decisions, it is crucial that electricity offers are disclosed uniformly. Accordingly, this project aims to develop a proposal for a European electricity disclosure system. To this end, the economic principles of energy disclosure will be analysed, and the requirements of consumers for such a system will be determined. Based on these findings, a concept for an EU-wide disclosure scheme will be developed. Finally, the political implications and possible energy-economic effects of such a transparency-supporting instrument will be examined.
