Comparison among different decommissioning funds methodologies for nuclear installations

EU Member States adopt various methods for estimating, collecting and managing the costs associated with decommissioning nuclear facilities. The project's main objective is to improve transparency surrounding decommissioning funding systems in Member States and candidate countries. This will be achieved by conducting a thorough analysis of existing and planned approaches in different countries, paying particular attention to financial risks. Additionally, the project will develop practical proposals for harmonising funding methodologies while taking into account the specific circumstances, motivations, roles and perspectives of relevant stakeholders.
