Assessment and reduction of the effects of leisure noise in cities

The central points of the research project are, on the one hand, the identification of noise conflicts during leisure activities and, on the other hand, the evaluation and identification of conflict avoidance and action options. For this purpose, information on parameters for quantifying recreational noise, on regulations applicable in Germany and in other European countries with regard to immission control for recreational noise, and also on the social and economic significance of noise-generating recreational facilities will be collected within the framework of a comprehensive literature research. In addition, an overview of the leisure activities that most frequently lead to noise complaints is carried out by means of a stakeholder survey.
