Analytical Review on Global and Regional Practices for the Reuse and Recycling of Lithium-ion Batteries

The purpose of this research was to review regulatory and technical aspects for the reuse and recycling of Lithium-ion Batteries in Latin America and the Caribbean. This study was part of IDB's larger programmatic approach to establishing investment and capacity needs in the sector. Based on this, the IDB will expand their market research and establish funding mechanisms.

The results aimed at presenting the bigger picture and providing a glimpse into relevant stakeholders in the region. This war to understand the state of implementation and efficacy of national regulations and EPR schemes for batteries. Another component was to gather further information about current recycling practices and capacities in selected Latin American countries.
