Additional examination and in-depth analyses of possible design options for a German Renewable Energies Heat Act

The project aims to establish a robust decision-making framework for a comprehensive renewable heating law at the national and European levels. The focus is on providing a detailed analysis of the potential for generating renewable heat, paying particular attention to local heating networks, and estimating the necessary investments. Additionally, international experience will be evaluated, and the feasibility of regulatory instruments and market-based support approaches in Germany will be examined and assessed. Another focus is the integration of energy efficiency and renewable heat, for instance through combined funding approaches and minimum ecological standards for biomass.
