Activities as issuing body for the German domain of the European Energy Certificate System (EECS) in 2001-2013

This project focuses on operation of the European Energy Certificate System (EECS) in Germany in 2013. This includes the provision of an electronic registry for guarantees of origin for electricity from renewable sources, but also from other fuels for use by German market participants. Furthermore, the project includes cooperation on behalf of the German EECS domain within the Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB). One focus of Oeko-Institut's work is the further development of EECS by active contribution in the respective committees. Christof Timpe was President of the AIB until June 2013; and Dominik Seebach was Deputy Chair of Working Group Internal Affairs until the end of 2013.
