Key Projects

  • European study on the contribution that private households can make to load management in energy systems with a large proportion of renewable energies
  • Design of a Europe-wide tracking scheme for electricity, which can be used for electricity disclosure, among other purposes
  • Development and management of an electricity disclosure system in Germany within the context of the “European Energy Certificate System”
  • Analysis for the municipally-owned utility of the city of Munich of the potential to generate a greater proportion of electricity from renewable sources, and appropriate strategies for implementation
  • Advice to the city of Freiburg i. Br. on the further development of its climate action plan
  • Study for the German Federal Environment Agency UBA on the implementation of electricity disclosure in Germany and the need for further improvements to this instrument
  • Integrated microsystems on the supply side: Development and evaluation of scenarios for the future development of grid-connected supply, with close involvement of operators in the field

Professional Training and Career

Undergraduate studies in Power Engineering at Erlangen/Nürnberg University, graduated with the title Dipl.-Ing. in 1992. Researcher at the Öko-Institut, Energy & Climate Protection Division, since 1993. Head of the Energy & Climate Protection Division (Freibrug) since 1996.
