Professional Training & Career

Dierk Bauknecht graduated in political science at the Freie Universität Berlin with the title Diplom-Politikwissenschaftler, and holds a Master’s degree in Science and Technology Policy at SPRU – Science and Technology Policy Research, University of Sussex, where he specialised in energy policy and energy sector governance. He also received a PhD from the University of Sussex.  Before joining Öko-Institut, he was a market analyst with a UK-based power market consultancy, working on wholesale electricity price forecasts and generation models.
