If arriving by train at the main station ("Hauptbahnhof"), take the tram ("Stadtbahn"), line 3 towards "Vauban". All trams leave from the large bridge ("Stadtbahnbrücke") crossing the rail tracks at the southern end of the platforms at the main train station. After about 15 minutes, you will reach the stop named "Paula-Modersohn-Platz". Alight here, cross Merzhauser Strasse and walk back in the direction from which the tram was coming for about 200 m. The Institute's offices are located at number 173 Merzhauser Strasse, in the front end of the "Sonnenschiff" building.

If travelling by car, take the A5 and leave the motorway at the Freiburg-Mitte exit. Take the B31a road towards Freiburg city centre (Stadtmitte). Leave the B31a at the Hauptbahnhof exit and keep to the left, following the signs for Merzhausen. Immediately after crossing Basler Strasse, you will be on Merzhauser Strasse. Follow this road for about 2 km. The Institute's offices are located on the left-hand side at number 173 Merzhauser Strasse, in the front end of the "Sonnenschiff" building.

When taking the train, get off at Darmstadt main station (Hauptbahnhof); the Institute is about five minutes’ walk away. Leave the station through the eastern entrance (Main) and go straight ahead along Mornewegstrasse (past the Kinopolis-cinema). After approx. 150 metres turn right into pedestrian path, following signs to Medi-Sport. Continue along the pedestrian path and enter the third building entrance before the car park (no. 95). The Oeko-Institut office is on the 5th floor.
by car
Coming from the north or south (A5 from Frankfurt / Basel, Heidelberg, Stuttgart; A67 from Mannheim / Wiesbaden): take the Darmstadt exit at the “Darmstädter Kreuz” junction and follow the signs for the city centre (“Innenstadt”) on the B26 (Rheinstrasse). Continue straight through two big intersections. At the third light (Hindenburgstraße) make a U-turn. Return 250 metres along Rheinstrasse in the right lane towards the motorway. At the Parking-sign Oeko-Institut sign before the next major intersection, turn right into the car park. Parking costs 2.50 euros. The Oeko-Institut office is on the 5th floor of the building complex on the right.

We recommend a travel by public transport!
Travellers by train take the tram (M10, M8) in the direction of S+U Warschauer Straße from the main station to the stop "Nordbahnhof" (3 stations). There, follow the signs to the S Berlin Nordbahnhof and take the S2 in the direction of S-Bhf Bernau. Get off at the "Pankow" stop (4 stations). Once there, take the exit "Granitzstr. / Berliner Str." and cross the street. Then walk along Berliner Straße for a short distance on the right and turn left into Borkumstraße (first crossroad). The Öko-Institut is located in the office building on the corner of Hiddenseestraße.
Arrival by subway - U2:
U-Bhf Pankow is the terminus of the U2. Travellers coming from the city, i.e. from the south, take the U2 in the direction of Pankow and continue to the end. There you take the same exit as in the description above and follow the further instructions on foot to the office building.
If you do arrive by car...
... from the north/northwest, take the A 114 towards Berlin-Zentrum/Berlin-Pankow into the city. Continue onto Prenzlauer Promenade/B109 and take the second right onto Granitzstraße, which you follow for about 1.5 kilometres. Before the next big crossing turn left into Kissingenstraße, then immediately right into Hiddenseestraße and left again into Borkumstraße. The Öko-Institut is located in the office building on the corner.
... if you are coming from the south or south-east, take the A10 and exit at junction 16-Dreieck-Nuthetal or the A9 (coming from Leipzig) and then the A115 towards Berlin-Zentrum/ Berlin-Zehlendorf/ Potsdam-Zentrum. At the motorway junction 1-Dreieck Funkturm follow the signs A100 towards Hamburg/Wedding and keep left to stay on the A100. You then continue on Seestraße and straight ahead on Osloer Straße. After about 3 kilometres, turn slightly left towards Schönhauser Allee/B96 and turn left to drive onto Schönhauser Allee/B96. After 500 meters turn slightly right onto Berliner Straße and behind the Lidl supermarket turn right onto Borkumstraße. The Öko-Institut is located in the office building on the next corner of Hiddenseestraße.
If it has to be the plane...
... Travellers from Tegel airport take the bus TXL in the direction of the main station and get off at the bus stop "Beusselstraße" after two stops. Follow the signs for the S-Bahn and take the S41 Ringbahn to the stop Berlin-Gesundbrunnen (3 stations). From there take the S2 in the direction of S Buch and get off at Pankow (2 stations). From there, follow the footpath to the office building from the top description.
... Travellers from Schönefeld airport take the S45 in the direction of S Südkreuz Bhf (Berlin) and get off at Berlin Baumschulenweg (6 stops). Change to the S85 in the direction of S+U Pankow and travel to the final stop Pankow (11 stations). From there, follow the instructions of the footpath to the office building from the top description.
