Support of BASE in the process analysis of the site selection procedure (PaSta)

The site selection procedure for a repository for high-level radioactive waste in the Federal Republic of Germany is regulated by the Site Selection Act (StandAG). The requirements contained therein regarding a "participatory, science-based, transparent, self-questioning and learning" (StandAG) site selection procedure are so far new for the implementation of legal procedures and pose great challenges to all parties involved. The requirement to find a site with the best possible safety also represents a complex task.
