Consumer advice as a component of a successful resource policy

The project aims at enhancing the awareness of relevant aspects of resource protection such as savings in material and space use, as well as appropriate means of action, such as an optimal service life of products, customized purchasing quantities, choice of resource-efficient products, adequate use and disposal, in consumer counseling. For this purpose, the project will evaluate established consumer advisory systems and services. The study intends to investigate whether and to what extent aspects of resource protection are sufficiently taken into account. Thereby, consulting gaps with regard to the relevant aspects of resource protection are to be identified in the area of private households. To eliminate these consulting gaps, solutions to integrate aspects of resource protection into the established guidance systems should be proposed and developed.
