Analysis of transformation pathways for global sustainable development

The project aims at identifying and analysing transformation pathways for global sustainable development. For this purpose, sources from science and politics are evaluated. The pathways relate to SDGs or SDG targets in the following thematic areas:

  • Sustainable food production
  • Sustainable energy supply
  • Sustainable cities
  • Sustainable consumption
  • Sustainable production
  • Sustainable soil/land use.

The transformation pathways are evaluated in terms of their completeness with regard to (intermediate) goals, milestones, transition narratives and measures, and with regard to the contribution that they claim to make to achieving the respective SDGs/ targets. Gaps will also be identified where (sufficiently concrete) proposals for transformation paths do not yet exist, but would be useful. Project results will be discussed in a workshop with experts from science, politics and administration.
