IT Department

The Information Technology Department delivers the IT infrastructure needed for efficient research operations. As an internal service unit, the department views the continuous development of essential information technologies at the Oeko-Institut as its key task. To maintain maximum environmental performance of the IT landscape, the department seeks ongoing dialogue with the Institute’s other units. Daily discussions with other members of staff are important and help to continuously improve the Institute’s IT.

The IT Department monitors trends in information and communication technologies, assesses these and harnesses them for the Oeko-Institut, keeping a close eye on the statutory setting and financial resources.

With its team-oriented structure, adopting social responsibility within the IT Department – while not always an easy undertaking – is considered an important aspect.
