Welcome to the Global Energy Strategy (GES) website, sponsored by the Heinrich Böll Foundation. 

The GES is meant as a contribution to the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) and its follow-up, focusing on the issue of energy. A team of authors (see contact) prepared a policy paper to underline the key challenges, and possible solutions, for a sustainable energy strategy on the global scale. The GES team also collaborated with other projects related to the WSSD.

The final version of the GES report is available for download - it was released to the public in a workshop in Berlin on March 25, 2003.

Last year, a GES draft report was presented and discussed at the WSSD on Aug. 29 (details), and September 2 (details), the presentation is available for download.
