GEMIS and the Cumulated Energy Requirement: CER Data and Methodology

The  Cumulated Energy Requirement (CER) is an important indicator for energy systems and can be used as a "proxy check" in life-cycle analyses (LCA).

In GEMIS, a special function to calculate the CER is available, and the database was extended accordingly. This was done within the CER project for the German Umweltbundeamt, for which a special website exists (in German only) - there, you will find more explanations regarding CER, and reports from the CER project.
