WIREC Side Event: Sustainability Criteria for Biomass

 organized by the German Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety

The objective of the side event is to discuss the rationale behind the establishment of sustainability criteria for biomass for bio-energy production and its pro and cons. Work on sustainability criteria is under way in several countries and international organizations. The German Biomass Sustainability Ordinance and activities in the EU, other countries and international organizations will be presented in the side event.
